Omar
Omar tells of one man's struggle to find a new home — though this could be the story of any of the thousands who journey across the Mediterranean in search of a better future for themselves and their families.
The score
The film depicts its characters travelling through deserts and seas, becoming victims of abuse, violence, robbery, torture and illegal detention. Daniele’s original scores accompany the plot with an emotional intensity that is hard to put into words. The haunting ambient beginning of ‘The Village’ creates a perfect canvas for the notes of a dreamy harp and lush strings. ‘Better Future’ is musically both melancholic and hopeful, together painting a remarkable human story. ‘The Sea’ echoes the rises, falls, calm and violent uncertainty of the sea. The soundtrack is released on Danca as the Omar OST (DNC 004).
